The 121st annual New Haven Christmas Bird Count will be held on Saturday, December 19th, 2020. There will be a few modifications to this year’s Count in order to ensure the health and safety of the participants in light of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Participants are advised to avoid carpooling and to maintain social distancing and facial covering protocols while birding. The traditional compilation dinner will be replaced by a Zoom compilation meeting beginning at 6 pm on the night of the event.
Birders who have participated in past counts should contact the Captain of the area in which they have birded before in order to coordinate their efforts. Birders who are new to the New Haven CBC who wish to participate should contact me at closcalz@optonline.net or 203 389-6508 so that I may direct them to an area and captain that can accept them onto their team.
