The Sixth Annual Mega Bowl of Birding in New Haven County – Chris Loscalzo

The Sixth Annual Mega Bowl of Birding in New Haven County and Connecticut will be held on Saturday, February 5th from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.. The Zoom meeting to go over the results will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Join us for a fun and friendly event! Compete with other birders and win prizes and get your team’s name inscribed on the prestigious Mega Bowl Trophy! This event is challenging and fun! Birders get together in small groups and go birding wherever they like within New Haven County. They earn points for every species they observe on a scale such that the rarer the bird is, the greater the points awarded. The Mega Bowl is inspired by the Superbowl of Birding held each January in Northeast New England by Mass Audubon. Participants in the Mega Bowl must register in advance and no later than Sunday, January 30th. Participants may sign up as a team of 2 to 5 people, or individuals can submit their names and they will be put in contact with others looking to become members of a team.
