Field Trip – Julius M. Hansen Park, North Haven – Craig Repasz, DeWitt Allen

Rich meadows, farm fields, forested wetlands, trap rock ridge, and riparian woods hold breeding populations of sparrows and warblers, woodpeckers, hawks, Baltimore Orioles, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, Indigo Buntings, and other field and woodland birds. Other migrating species are possible. We will meet at the parking lot on Patten Road. From exit 12 off Interstate 91 north or south, turn left onto Washington Avenue, then left on Blakeslee Avenue. Follow it to Bassett Road. Go right on Bassett Road and continue through the intersection with Clintonville Road (Route 22) onto Mill Road. Take a gentle left up onto Patten Road and continue east. The park entrance will be on the left.
